August 1st -Three Weeks To Go

Jen and I are three weeks away from leaving for England to start the big adventure we've been working towards since late last year.

We're going to walk Alfred Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk - almost 200 miles through some of the must rugged and beautiful country in the north of England. The walk passes through three national parks - beginning on the coast of the Irish Sea in St. Bee's, Cumbria through the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and then onto the North York Moors ending at Robins Hood's Bay on the North Sea.

We started training in earnest in April after production of 22 Minutes ended and since then we have logged many many training miles, Jen has walked the roads of Digby Neck faithfully and I know the paths around my place in Merigomish like the back of my hand. We've  researched and read,  purchased gear, lost pounds and inches, booked places to stay, taken a map and compass course. poured over OS maps  and talked and talked about whether we can really do this walk. Yes, we can.

Now it's almost here and the plan is to post each day as we go so our friends and family can follow along with us.

 WE ARE REALLY, REALLY EXCITED!!

  1. Looking forward to hearing your stories from the road. Or from the footpaths, trails, meadows, hilltops, dales and vales, lanes, pastures, and passageways. You get the idea. Cheers to a great adventure, ladies!
